Call To Arms: Open Beta!
So after a long time talking, I put the latest version of the rules online last week as you already know. This is the Beta Edition, and it is my hope that people far and wide will try the game out, and provide us with feedback on what they like, dislike, and how they think the game can be improved.
The core rules have been tested quite extensively but of course I’m sure there’s room for improvement.
Balancing of profiles is the biggest weakness thusfar, I believe, and so we are very eager for people to play, become familiar with the game, and give us details of their meta- what seems overpowered, what seems too expensive, and all that good stuff. There’s only one way to really gauge relative model strength, and that’s by hundreds of hours worth of play feedback!
It is only with the help of the community that we can hope to get the game to the lofty standards we have set ourselves. We are heading for high production quality with all components of the game, but it would be a mistake to think that this was an “art project” or a “boutique miniatures company”. We are gamers, and we want the game to shine! Of course, everything else has to be great too, because we’re those kinds of people.
So please download and read through the rules, provide feedback (using the feedback link above) and above all- get the game on the table and let us know what you think of the play experience and the usability of the rulebook!
I guess this is also a good time to remind people that if anyone wanted to make a contribution to the costs of getting the game on the table, that would really be very welcome indeed.
